Our auction checklist for potential vendors
As a potential vendor, use our auction checklist to guide your selection of which property auctioneer is best suited to selling your house. Do adjust the list as queries arise. Best of all, try get a recommendation from someone you trust such as an estate agent, solicitor or investor. Analyse the catalogues of auction houses in your area to get a feel for the types of properties they sell and the way they market their auctions. If time allows, attend an auction – how busy is the room and how many lots sold? Do they deal with your courteously and effectively? Do they have their own estate agency arm? Do they handle your type of property? Are they local to you (if your target buyer is local)? Do they have auctions within your time frame? How active are they in marketing and publicising their auction lots? How many catalogues do they send out to prospective buyers?
